The term Reykjavik series often takes after this particular name due to the infamous chess tournament held in 1972 Iceland. This tournament was held between 2 chess masters in Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky the former of course came out victorious in this final championship. The term Jacques Staunton is famous for this particular pieces as the Jacques of London initially introduced this particular set of chess pieces.
